No title

A group of three lime kilns excavated in 1973 prior to destruction by construction of the Milverton by-pass. The kilns were built in 1872 and may have been linked by a siding to the Devon and Somerset Railway. They had ceased operating by 1912. A contemporary account of their building was published in the Wellington Weekly News, which mentions a fourth kiln, not located by 1973 survey.
