Fixed into the natural granite around the coastguard lookout on Pedn-men-dhu (93004) are a series of iron hooks, or rings, which would have held the guys supporting the flagstaff shown here on the 1875 O.S. large scale map. As the staff was replaced by the coastguard hut, it must be supposed that the flag was connected with the Coastguards whose station in 1875 was at the western end of Sennen Cove village.
