Restored line of Hadrians Wall from the E facing vertical offset at NY77776854 to the butt end of the Wall at the junction with the collapsed field wall at NY7792 6657. Length 130.3m, av height 1.23m - 1.54m, av width 1.92m - 2.18m. Clayton Wall Survey numbers C7, C6, C5, C4, C3, C2, C1.
1/ 69.1m (Clayton Wall Survey numbers C7, C6, C5), from E facing vertical offset to W facing vertical offset, 4 Roman courses, horizontal offset discontinously visible for 20m. Hard mortar present. Top courses run E down gentle slope in steps.
2/ 17.4m (Clayton Wall Survey number C4), from W facing vertical offset to E facing vertical offset; offset produces a horizontal offset projecting 0.15m; up to 2 courses Roman. Good turf cap, bulging at E end.
3/ 21m (Clayton Wall Survey number C3), from E facing vertical offset to W facing vertical offset; 2-5 Roman courses with well preserved hard mortar, turf cap in good condition.
4/ 14.3m (Clayton Wall Survey number C2), from W facing vertical offset to E facing vertical offset; 2 Roman courses, turf cap becomes eroded with top course loose.
5/ 8.5m (Clayton Wall Survey number C1), from E facing vertical offset to the butt end of the Wall at the junction with the collapsed field wall; 1-2 Roman courses with traces of hard mortar. Bottom course horizontally offset. Turf cap worn down but no core visible.
