A possible Iron Age fort is visible as both earthworks and cropmarks on air photographs. Situated on a low hill to the north of Percys Fox Covert, this feature is egg-shaped and comprises an outer ditch and two palisades; the outer ditch being visible in places as a slight earthwork. The outermost ditch is situated around the base of the hill. It encloses an area 0.68ha (100 metres by 70 metres), and is 2.5 metres wide. A rounded terminal to this ditch is situated on the east side of the hillfort and presumably forms one side of an entrance. The opposing terminus is obscured by later boundaries and less cropmark conducive vegetation. The two palisades are visible as very narrow cropmarks (no more than 0.5 metres). They measure roughly 44 metres and 68 metres in diameter. Both ditches have potential entrances on their west and east sides. These twin palisades lie 8 metres apart and are roughly concentric.
