A byre for 12 beasts with a brick partition making a feeding passage along the north wall. Manure passage. Walls: Sandstone rubble, quoins and dressings to windows and doors are margined and are finished with pointed work. Roof: Hipped at the west end, slated, clay tile ridge, 5-bays with king post construction where the post is extended to hold the ridge board. Double cleated purlins, butt jointed. Photos: 6, 10 &11. Description from record 14093: A byre for 18 tethered cattle in paired stalls. Feeding passage on west side divided from stalls by brick partition with timber coping. all the stall partitions are still in place. Walls: Sandstone rubble with margined quoins and dressings finished with pointed work. Roof: A pitched slated roof with clay ridge tiles, 7-bays, king post construction (resting on tie beams) and struts. Double cleated purlins - the king post extended to hold a ridge board. photo: 12.
