Site of cottage, Frogmore Farm, Killerton

A small cottage is recorded in this position on the 1842 Tithe map, with an orchard. It is likely to be Luzwell`s, as it is listed with Brookhill (Frogmore Farm) and Styles (Beare Farm Cottages). The name would relate to the well recorded immediately to the east of this site. It is marked on the 1879 map, but is absent on the 1889 O.S. map.
When fieldwalked a few pieces of pot were found near the northeast boundary of the field, and a cluster on the site. The field was walked while it carried winter wheat.
