Excavated and restored by Clayton in the mid-19th century, the Wall was found to have been built to narrow gauge specifications on narrow foundations. Archaeological Comments - Site:12018*0 Any restoration or repair work carried out on the Clayton Wall should be done so under the supervision of an experienced archaeologist.
