Located on the west side of the Time Hut platform (108856) lies the Time Hut (108855). This is a granite built, mortared structure, with a window and an opening for a clock on the east side, and an entrance on the south side. This feature has a sloping roof, which today is made of corrugated iron. Much of the east wall has been re-pointed, internally there is a fireplace on the west wall and some plaster remains in various places. The Landmark Trust restored this builidng in the 1980s so it has a modern concrete floor, along with a modern door on the south side, six light timber casement windows on the east side and a small single light glass pane on the north side. Width 3.6m, length 4.4m, height 2.7m (min) and 3.5m (max). This feature was the Timekeepers office and is the place where the workers clocked in everyday. Roof: corrugated iron with granite rubble laid on it on three sides to hold it down. Walls: large pieces of granite, squared for quoins and jambs, lintels granite, also sill and step. Memorial tablet inserted in the east wall in three pieces of granite with chamferred circle cut out. Vut into slate an inscription reads: FELIX GADE in grateful memory 1890-1926-1978. Door: four plank, ledged and braced, thumb latch and T-hinges. Lintel wood, Windows: East 3 lights with square mullions, each 1x2 panes. North small single pane, lintel probably part of the fireplace surround, cast iron. Fireplace: Granite jamb and lintel, small, granite cut with recessed chamfer, so possibly cast iron surround added later, grate gone, apparently used originally. Floor: Concrete slabs Walls: Were plastered, remnants surviving. Seat along the east and north walls. Obviously restored as a memorial. Date: Probably dates to the time of the Lundy Granite Co. 1861- 71
