Medieval defended motte and homestead. Excavations revealed five phases of occupation beginning with the construction of a ditch system and possible timber framed buildings. The next phase saw the addition of a first floor hall with an undercroft along with a garderobe tower. This occupation predated 1250. Between 1250 and 1325 a mound was erected and a house built. The house was then abandoned before 1400. Period 4 witnessed the construction of a further house dating to the 15th century. The final period saw the destruction of the site sometime after 1500.
