Excavations in 1960 uncovered the remains of a possible Neolithic settlement and an Iron Age settlement dating from the 4th century BC throughout the Roman period to AD 367. A 2nd century brooch, a quern and many nails were found. A standing drystone wall of uncertain date was recorded.
