Mesolithic implements including tranchet axe, five cores, seven blades and flakes and one other flint were found at Hallards Fen, north of High Town Drove. One tranchet axe, one other axe, one flake, one scraper and one microlith were also found at Hightown Drove.

Recent field walking in the ploughed areas between Hells Mouth and Carvannel, has produced microliths, flint scrapers, a barbed and tanged arrowhead and a partly polished greenstone axe. Also found were half-sections of two stone axe-hammers or mace-heads.
