Evaluation in advance of proposed residential development only 750m north of the Roman fort of Old Carlisle (Olenacum) revealed a shallow ditch containing a cremation burial in a vessel of Huntcliff-type ware. Funded by Alfred McAlpine Homes.

No datable evidence encountered linking any of the features with Romano-British field systems investigated elsewhere in the area. Small circular and oval features may have represented pits or post-holes but may also have been evidence of the removal of tree-root boles.
