A medieval moat is visible as earthworks on air photographs. Only three sides of the moat survive and to the north another ditch may be part of a field enclosure. The moated enclosure may possibly be the site of a manor house held by William de Thorntoft in 1316.

A manorial settlement at Court farm. The Manor House was standing prior to 1587 and demolished around 1830. Its foundations remain as earthworks. The settlement also includes a fishponds, outbuildings and a granary.
